Oaklands Historic House Museum recently partnered with Rowland Solutions, a Murfreesboro web development company, to build a new website to showcase all Oaklands has to offer. The new site is five times the size of the previous one and is packed with new features for you to explore. Some of our favorites include:

Historic timeline – This is one of our favorite features of our new website. You can directly interact with our history timeline. As you explore the history of Murfreesboro, see how the story of Oaklands unfolds before you as you navigate from one point in history to another.

Museum blog– What’s new at Oaklands? Visit often to find out. We certainly hope you enjoy it and will be a frequent visitor to our blog, our new website and especially to Oaklands Historic House Museum.

Social media– Featuring live feeds from Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and even TripAdvisor. Visitors can easily “like” or share content with convenient buttons located at the bottom of each page.

PayPal – Visitors to the new Oaklands website can now become members or renew memberships, make donations to the museum and even adopt an artifact. Future plans are to expand this aspect of our site to include other purchases such as event tickets and even gift shop items.

Photos – Our new website features more than 300 images spanning from the interior and exterior of our historic mansion to the grounds of Oaklands Park. These photos also include images of Murfreesboro’s storied past, special events and educational events held at the museum through its 55 years.

Mobile accessibility – Oaklands new webpage adjusts to whatever screen size you choose! This will allow for easier navigation and reading whether you visit on your phone, tablet or laptop.

Visit today and come back often to keep up to date on Oaklands’ newest events, as well as your community’s rich history.

Oaklands Historic House Museum, located at 900 North Maney Avenue in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is a nationally registered historic landmark that reflects a time of prosperity in the Old South as well as the hardships suffered during the Civil War.
