The Chapel in Cannonsburgh Village was once the Tipperary School is (LaVergne)

The old Tipperary School (1915-1925)  was located south of Waldron Road, near Rock Springs (LaVergne)  The school was first named The Gambill School in honor of School Director Charles H. Gambill.  When the song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" became popular, school boys unofficially called their schoolhouse 'Tipperary'.  Today this structure is one of the centerpieces at Murfreesborough's Historic Cannonsburgh Village, aka 'The Chapel'.
