Saturday, December 14, 2019, Stones River National Cemetery
The second Saturday of each December features the annual ‘Wreaths Across America’ at the Stones River National Battlefield and National Cemetery.
This emotional tribute to our veterans who made the definitive sacrifice occurs at more than 1,100 cemeteries across America.
The Stones River National Cemetery first participated in ‘Wreaths Across America’ in 2012, with only twelve wreaths being placed. 2019 saw 2,727 wreaths placed on the graves of those who served.
Ceremonial wreaths are placed in honor of the United States Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and Prisoners of War/Missing in Action. The mission of ‘Wreaths Across America’ is to honor and to teach about the sacrifice our veterans made for the freedom we share.
