(MURFREESBORO) When the Murfreesboro City Council met on Thursday (9/19/2019) night, Mayor Shane McFarland awarded a local resident the key to the city, honoring him for over 30 years of volunteer service.
Mayor McFarland noted, “John Verge loves Murfreesboro and its people. He has been ringing Salvation Army’ bells, calling sporting events for the Boys And Girls Club, and other areas of community service for over 30 years.”
At that point the entire audience stood and gave an ovation for more than two minutes.
