The Sam Davis Home is now taking reservations for Teddy Bear Tea and Young Ladies Tea, set to take place March 2015.
The beloved Teddy Bear Tea will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and again on March 21 at 10 a.m., and is ideal for girls age 4-10, their favorite bear or doll and a special loved one in their life. The event will begin with some tasty treats and some savory teas and lemonade in the Sam Davis Creek House.
Guests will then learn to make a special craft to take home and visit the museum theater for a fun story with their teddy bear. The day will end with a tour inside the Sam Davis Home with one of the Davis ladies, focusing on how young ladies once lived and played in the home.
For the first time, Young Ladies Tea will be held for girls age 11-15 on Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity both for young ladies who have graduated from Teddy Bear Tea and those who have never been to the site.
The event will begin with light refreshments and tea as they learn about 19th century etiquette and social customs. The ladies will then participate in a more mature craft time, play outdoor games (weather permitting), and enjoy a tour of the Sam Davis Home to learn more about the ladies that lived there over a century ago.
Both teas are also a great badge-earning opportunity for Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scout troops. Girls will fulfill all or some of the requirements for the “Mannerly Me” and “Social Butterfly” badges at the two events.
Reservations are required for both events with an admission price of $15 per guest, excluding teddy bears. Reservations can be made by contacting the SDH events manager at (615) 459-2341 or [email protected].
Please make your reservations early, as this popular event fills up quickly.
