Oaklands Mansion has partnered with a local artist to offer an exciting new coffee mug! This limited edition, color changing mug is a must for your collection! When it’s cold you will see only white artwork against a black background, but fill it with a hot beverage and a vivid color art piece of Oaklands springs to life … along with some of the beloved creatures of Maney Spring!
“It has been an honor to create this art… I love it…. I hope you do too.” Sheryl Ann Miller-Turman, artist and co-owner of Hippie Haven Studios with Bobby Turman Jr.
Oaklands Park is a 42+ acre City of Murfreesboro Public Park in the heart of downtown. Open greenspaces have been incorporated to provide room for special events and to reflect the historical grounds of Oaklands Mansion.
Walking trails provide paths through the Trail of Trees, a level 1 native tree arboretum and natural wetlands. Visitors will find tree identification markers and interpretive signage along the way.
Just down a gentle hillside from the history oak, a 300+ year old white oak tree (and the parks oldest resident) Maney Spring emerges from its’ source underground and flows north until it meets Sinking Creek and later returns underground. The area is a natural wetland with rare species of both plants and animals who either visit or live here.
These limited edition mugs are available exclusively at the Oaklands Mansion Gift Shop and can be yours for $28.50. Each purchase supports the non-profit museum’s mission which is rooted in preservation, education and interpretation.
