(MURFREESBORO) Demolition of the old five-story Pinnacle Financial Partners building on the corner of College and Maple Streets is underway.
Murfreesboro Transportation Department’s Deputy Director Ram Balachandran told WGNS that College Street will be closed between Church and Maple Streets so that the crane opoeration can take place. He noted that Maple Street was closed the previous week for work on that side of the structure.
Earlier, Pinnacle’s Rutherford County Area Executive Bill Jones said, “I hate to disappoint everyone, we will not take the old structure down by implosion. We’re concerned that it might create problems for our neighbors.”
Instead, they are taking the five-story structure down piece by piece.
They hope to have the structure totally razed by the end of this month, and Pinnacle’s new complex with technology to better serve the area’s financial needs will begin with the New Year.
Jones explained that construction would take 12-months, so the facility could be finished by the end of 2021.
Again, this reminder–College Street is closed between Maple and Church Sreets now through Wednesday so that crews can demolish the old Pinnacle Financial Partners building.
